This is my 1977 RA23 Toyota Celica... yeah, I know it ain't pretty, but it's a work in progress OK?

These pics were taken in 1998 in my parents' back yard, shortly after I restored the car to "sort of" running order. The 18R-G engine is installed and the new suspension components have been fitted, but much work still needs to be done. Note the patches of primer where the rust has been repaired.
Here's the most interesting bit, the engine - a Toyota 18R-GU imported from Japan. It's a 2L DOHC 8-valver with a Yamaha cylinder head. In the leftmost pic it's in totally standard form with the factory original 40mm Mikuni Solex carbeurettors. In the remaining pics the carbs have been replaced by factory EFI from an 18R-GEU engine.
These pics were taken shortly before I transported the RA23 home from my parents' place. The white car is my accident-damaged 74 TA22 Celica, shortly before I sold it for next to nothing.
This pic was taken a day after I had my new 205/60 Nankang tyres fitted on the 14x7 rims. What a difference it made to the handling! The old tyres were in a very bad way.
These pics were taken in my garage in Brisbane. As you can see, the interior is in need of lots of attention!
Here is the turbo, manifold and ex-RX7 intercooler I will be fitting to the Celica in the near future.
